Disaster Cleanup Services

Springtime brings the start of a new season. It is nice to enjoy the sunshine, warm weather, and beautiful plants after the brutal Winter. Spring also comes with cleaning, remodels, and other home projects. Before starting any projects, it is best to do a home safety check on your property. This check could ensure you do not have any surprise disasters in the upcoming months. Below, we will discuss some areas that should be checked for damages.

Attics and Basements

Attics and basements are two of the most neglected areas of your property. Most people do not use their attics of basements often, leaving them unchecked for months at a time. If damage occurs in one of these areas, it will likely not be discovered for months. Water damage is the most common problem we see in attics and basements. Months of water sitting in your attic or basement can lead to structural damages, rot, and mold growth, all of which are expensive to repair. Walking through your attic and basement regularly can ensure you do not have any surprise water damages in the future.
Roofing

You see your roof every day. You see it as you leave and return from work, but do you ever take a really good look at your roof? DO you check for missing shingles? Broken shingles? Other damages? The answer is usually No. Walk around your property and check your roof for any damages. Damages to your roof, even minor ones, can lead to major water damages.

Fire Alarms and Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers and fire alarms should be checked at the beginning of each season. This should be non-negotiable, as your fire alarm and fire extinguishers can both save the life of you and your family and even your property. Test your fire alarms and ensure your extinguishers are in proper working order.

Gutters

Gutters can be clogged and damaged from the Winter weather. A clogged gutter can turn into major water damages. Water can seep into your walls and roof. Cleaning your gutters can prevent water damages to your property.
